Dominating the town centre since the 14th century, Notre-Dame d’Alençon achieved Basilica status in 2009. Contemplate this Gothic gem whose architecture, stained glass windows and eternal links to the Martins, parents of Saint Theresa, never fail to fascinate.
SAINT-LÉONARD DISTRICT - 30 min.
Go exploring the town’s oldest neighbourhood. Founded in the 4th century on the right bank of the River Sarthe, the district of Saint-Léonard was built, reworked and embellished by the Dukes of Alençon.
